The opportunities of the 120th Session of the International Coffee Council
In Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, from 25 to 29 September 2017, the 120th Session of the International Coffee Council will be held. It is the first time that a meeting of the ICO has been held in Côte d’Ivoire since 1969. In addition, a Workshop on Statistics will also be held and the 7th Consultative Forum on Coffee Sector Finance .
During the meeting, members will discuss the Organization’s strategic review, national coffee policies, cooperation with other agencies and promotion activities and participants will have the opportunity to visit coffee farms and enjoy Côte d’Ivoire’s coffee culture.
At the Workshop on Statistics, officials responsible will provide data on exports and the production of coffee to the ICO. The aim is to allow them to exchange their experiences and the methodologies used to collate data in their relevant countries, and to receive advice on ways to improve compliance with the Organization’s Rules on Statistics.
At the 7th Consultative Forum on Coffee Sector Finance, the theme is “Creating an enabling environment for high productivity in coffee farming”. In this forum, representing coffee producing countries will produce case studies on specific institutions, policies and initiatives that unlocked the potential of coffee producers.
